Participation is free. RSVP is MANDATORY. The Zoom link will be provided on the day of the event.
Please note: Casa Italiana hosts but does not interfere with the programming choices of the lectures. For all information, please contact the coordinator of the lecture series, Laura Caparrotti, at [email protected].
On the occasion of the conference Eros: Thinking, Feeling, Writing Love from Classical Antiquity to Early Modernity (October 12-13 at Casa Italiana), On the Italian Stage takes you on a two-part discovery of the female presence in Renaissance theater, from the role of women actors on the stage to how female characters were depicted in plays. In the first encounter, we will explore how women worked in theater, how they were portrayed in early Italian theater, and why.
