The history of the Italian stage is mostly a history of traveling troupes that were bringing their theater to town after town, presenting it in public squares as well as royal palaces. It is also the history of many actors who brought Italian theater around Europe and the World with much success and devotion. The first meeting will offer an overview of traveling theater in Italian theater over the centuries, introducing the protagonists, the kind of theater they were producing, and the success they were obtaining.
