GINEVRA PETRUCCI

Praised by the Italian press as being “one of the most interesting talents of her generation”, and described as having “a beautiful phrasing, brilliant virtuosity and a legato worthy of a great singer” by The Flutist Quarterly, Ginevra Petrucci has performed throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia, appearing in recitals at many of the world’s most celebrated venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Santa Cecilia in Rome, Salle Cortot in Paris and Ohji Hall in Tokyo.

As a chamber musician, she has worked closely with world-renown artists, including Bruno Canino, Boris Berman, Emmanuel Ceysson, the Kodály Quartet and I Musici di Roma.

She has recorded several CDs for international labels, including the first world recording of Briccialdi, Dupuy and Büchner’s Concertos, albums dedicated to Wilhelm Kempff and Robert Muczynski, and the first CD ever recorded on flauto d’amore.

Born in Rome in 1989, she studied at Conservatorio ‘Santa Cecilia’ of Rome with her father, to continue her education at École Normale ‘Alfred Cortot’ in Paris, at Yale University and SUNY Stony Brook, where she is currently completing her Doctorate.

Some of Ginevra’s recent projects include the rediscovery and creation of a new repertoire for the flauto d’amore, in collaboration with some of the most exciting young composers of the New York area.  She is Principal Flute at Chamber Orchestra of New York.
